Concert
"From Earth and Heaven"
As part of the Cantabile Festival, the Church of the Cardaes Convent hosts the concert "From Earth and Heaven," which brings together works by Gustav Holst and Franz Schubert. Between the earthly light of one and the spiritual elevation of the other, the program offers an evening of music in a space whose acoustics and tranquility give it a unique character. Admission is free, without prior reservation, subject to the church's capacity; we advise arriving early.

Themed visit
"Saint Teresa of Ávila — History and Art"
We propose a look at the figure of Saint Teresa of Jesus and how her memory permeates the history and heritage of this house of Carmelite tradition. Throughout the visit, we explore the spaces and works that allow us to understand the saint's place in the religious and artistic life of the Convent.

Themed visit
"Saint Teresa of Ávila — Art and Representation in the Convent of the Cardaes"
This visit focuses on the image: how Saint Teresa was represented, what messages these representations intended to convey, and how they interact with the space that houses them. It is a more attentive reading of the artistic detail, complementary to the previous day's visit but which can be done independently.

150 years since the decree handing over the Convent to the Association
One hundred and fifty years ago, the decree handing over the Convent to the Association of Our Lady Consoler of the Afflicted prevented this house from remaining empty and allowed the Association to establish itself there, transforming it into a shelter for blind women. A century and a half later, the mission remains active: today we house 32 women with different special needs.
To mark the occasion, we are opening our doors for four visits to the Convent and residential area, at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The visits are free, limited to 25 participants each, and require prior registration through our website.
Out of respect for those who live here, photography is not permitted in residential areas.

"What Blinds Us"
The Convento dos Cardaes, in Príncipe Real, is one of the central venues of the 3rd Lisbon Contemporary Jewelry Biennial, along with MUDE and Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, hosting the international group exhibition "O que nos cega | What Makes Us Blind", open from September 23rd to November 1st.
